One of the main complaints we hear from prospective clients during our initial meetings is their frustration with having purchased “top quality” roofs, only to see them fail far short of their expected service life.  While there are many factors as to why a roof fails, one of the most common reasons is the roof was not a good match for the building on which it was installed.  When recommended a roof system for installation, Moisture Management considers a wide range of factors such as climate, building use, amount of foot traffic, environmental risks, and the types of materials used to construct the rest of the building.  If you are relying on a roofing contractor to select and install the correct system, you will often be disappointed.

Most commercial roofing contractors are “certified” with one or more major material manufacturers. The contractors receive buying discounts and specification support depending on the amount of volume they purchase.  This results in most contractors utilizing a single group of products all produced by a single manufacturer.  The reality is that no single manufacturer has the best system and products for all installation situations. In addition, when newer, less tested systems come to market, they are often specified despite the lack of historical data and proven results. In essence, your roof becomes a “laboratory” for their products!

Moisture Management does not limit the specification of systems and products to one or even several manufacturers, opting instead to utilize the solution(s) that best fits the building and customer expectations.  However, with over 2,500 roofing systems marketed in the U.S. today, care must be taken to ensure the selected system will meet the high quality standards of Moisture Management. Therefore, we stick to systems that have demonstrated long term quality and durability, with proven and reliable historical data. When new systems are introduced, we evaluate them and, in many cases, monitor their development until we feel comfortable that they will provide solid value for our clients.
